Stanley K. Doobin

Stanley K. Doobin is the Owner and Chief Executive Officer of Harvard. He joined the family business in 1984, when it had fewer than 80 employees, and became President in 1995, succeeding his father, who founded the company in 1961. Over the course of his career, Stan has led Harvard’s transformation from a small New York City-based firm into a national industry leader with more than 10,000 employees operating in 48 states and the District of Columbia.
At the core of Stan’s leadership philosophy is the “Inverted Pyramid®” approach, which places frontline employees at the top of the organizational structure. This employee-first model creates a supportive work environment and empowers staff to deliver exceptional service to clients.
Under Stan’s direction, Harvard has expanded well beyond janitorial services to offer a comprehensive suite of facility solutions, including security and restoration services, in response to evolving client needs.
In 2004, Stan was honored as Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year for the Metro New York area in recognition of his entrepreneurial achievements.
Stan holds a Bachelor of Science in Accounting and Finance from Washington and Lee University, an MBA from Emory University, and is a Certified Public Accountant. Stan served as President of the Building Service Contractors Association International (BSCAI) and is President, since 2016, of the industry Global Association–the World Federation of Building Service Contractors (WFBSC).
